Etiquette
Etiquette
Section I of the Rules of Golf are dedicated to etiquette and take up 4 pages of the book. R&A have a section on their website devoted to etiquette, it has 3 main topics (here are the condensed versions, click on the topic for link to R&A);
1) Care of the Course; Replace divots – Repair plug marks on the green.
2) Keeping Pace; Be ready to play when it is your turn. Six practice swings and/or a change of club is not being ready to play. On the green be ready to putt, leave your bags/buggies on the side of the green near the next teeing ground and mark your cards away from the green so the group behind you can play to the green. If you think your ball has gone into a hazard or OOB, hit a provisional ball. When it becomes apparent it will take some time to find your ball – call the next group through!
Slow play if one of the most talked about topics in golf. It is not a myth, are you keeping up?
3) Consideration for Others; See 2 above.
